Our lives are filled with milestones, and we place a measure of worth on each. A year ago, I had wretched my A.A.S. from the state and had landed a GREAT job. I still have that job. The fruits of my work allowed me to spirit my sons away to Arizona to spend a few days with my hero, Delmar. And although I didnt know...I knew. Im grateful for our time together. And Im pissed that I didnt act sooner. Cliche, yes. But all stereotypes are true to some degree. Pop died in March but I havent seen him in a year. I can still hear his laughs and jokes. I suppose I always will. This milestone will weigh on me for a bit, as another has. But their echo in the eyes of their grandsons has payed freight on my heart. Family. Love. Everything.
