Our meat chickens will be arriving around June 16th!!! This year we are raising 50 birds again for our family. We might raise an additional 25 depending on how full the freezer looks. It might seem like a lot, but if you think about how much chicken the average person consumes, it is just about right. We put our birds out to pasture every day and bring them in at night. They are happy and not crowded like their industrial counterparts. Raising animals for consumption is certainly a mindset. When I see how the large industry farms treat their animals, I know that this is the right course of action.
