Our modern approach to life is a lot like trying to pack as much - TopicsExpress

Our modern approach to life is a lot like trying to pack as much as we can on a flight. We stuff huge backpacks under the seat in front of us, leaving little to no legroom. We’re all chasing after awesome, trying to get someplace good, and the price we pay is a lack of breathing room. Some of it’s good stuff we want to do. Some of it’s bad stuff we’re trying to manage. But all of us, unless we are intentionally resisting the temptation, are living overbooked lives without any extra space, and it’s slowly draining away all our energy and joy— and the pace it requires sets us all up for a crash. When you live an over-booked, overloaded, no-legroom kind of life, eventually something gives. Either you crash and burn out, or you engage in escapist behaviors, or a health problem flattens you, or an unexpected challenge sends you off the cliff emotionally or financially. The scariest thing of all is that we hardly notice it happening. We’re just clipping along chasing awesome, overbooked, over-extended… but then comes the crash. Over the next few weeks at Central, we’re going talk about this issue, so we can check ourselves before we wreck ourselves. Join us each weekend! Find times & locations at centralonline.tv!
