Our neighbors did something clever last year by cutting a decent sized hole in the side of one of those big, household, blue storage bins (used mostly for storing winter clothes) and putting some blankets in it. They had the hole facing away from the wind and toward a warmer corner outside. Little stray kitties and doggies used them on the especially cold nights. We live in Dallas, so that might not be enough for some states, but it worked great. Thanks for sharing, Lily
