Our new about us for Facebook and our website: Ted and Greg - TopicsExpress

Our new about us for Facebook and our website: Ted and Greg started JackWagon Jerky in 2010, when we were on a fishing trip and had brought some inferior jerky product with us. The stuff was horrible and we thought we could make something comparable and better tasting. We found a few recipes’s and combined them and tweaked it until it is what it is today. Took three years to get to where we are now and a lot of experimentation. Because of an error in the kitchen we have to jerky flavors. Original and spicy. We also created a party mix by pouring the marinade into some Chex mix, it tasted really good so we created our own, a very popular product, named Broken Spoke Red Neck Party Mix, also available in Original and spicy. One night we decided to marinate a steak in the jerky marinade, put it on the grill and it was awesome. This fall we will start selling the marinade. When we tried to settle on a name for our product we tried several different variations, but settled on JackWagon, because of the Gieco commercial. Then we looked up what a true Jack Wagon was and it is defined as a wagon that was used in World War I by the Marines to transport ammunition to the front lines. They would use parts of other old wagons that may have broken down. Since we have repaired and rebuilt old boats we thought the name was appropriate. We have prided ourselves on the quality of our Jerky we feel as many of our loyal followers do that we make the best product around. We use only the best quality top round beef, low sodium and gluten free for our marinade, sorry the party mix I not gluten free, YET! But we are working on it. We find that it can be addictive, I always joke that I use the best Crack and Cristal Meth. We don’t really, but it seems the combination of ingredients and our process, all hand cut makes our jerky a step above any other jerky on the market. We thank everyone for their continued support, and especially Kristen and Joe Almedia who have been beneficial in getting our product sold and out in stores. And Mike Tripp aka Karaoke Tripp who promotes us at every event he does. Mike is also the company’s head of HR. And remember our tag line Made in Maine by a Couple of Rednecks!
