Our new surroundings in Rio: Parque Guinle With an area of approximately 24,750 m², this park originally constituted the gardens of Eduardo Guinles palace – erected in the 1920s and today the house of Rio de Janeiros governor. Designed by the French landscape Architect Gérard Cochet, the park later received some specific interventions by Roberto Burle Marx. Around the park the first set of residential buildings directed to the Carioca elite was built. Designed by architect Lucio Costa and erected between 1948 and 1954, the buildings are a perfect example of modernist architecture with Brazilian accent.
