Our non-profit mission: (1) to grant money to non-profits that do good for the gay community, and (2) to provide a destination for the LGBTQ community and our supporters to meet, mingle and have fun. Providing frequent, unique, fun events, with something for everyone, is essential to our mission. We have a wonderful set of monthly performances by talented performers and entertainers. We will be hosting the following high-quality shows on a recurring monthly schedule, starting in July and August! - Deanna Dangers burlesque shows, monthly. - Richmonds Finest male revue shows, monthly. - Drag shows by Kerri Blake, the Showgirl of Richmond, with her Godfrey Girls, monthly. - Charity benefit HOOP drag shows, also featuring Kerri and her crew, monthly. - ASG/Thrive Drag Bingo, bi-monthly. - Zakia Jemaceyes Impulse Vixen drag shows, monthly. - Jennifer DVilles Drag Bingo shows, monthly or more. The list goes on: Eunita Biskit; DC Imperial Court; Play On! Theater; Bent Theatre Comedy; Hamner Theater; Andy Deane; Alethea Leventhal; Phoenix Dance Group; Owensford; Paisley Fields; CUFF; Womens Dances; Holiday Parties; Talent Shows; and so much more. Please forgive us, and tag yourselves in the comments, if weve failed to mention you. Ultimately, the board of directors, who have made a significant personal investment in Impulse, are in charge of the decisions made and paths taken at Impulse. While we strive to be fair and accommodating, we all make mistakes, and inevitably differences can emerge between the board and the performers we cherish and value. You may have noticed some churn in our in-house lineup of performers, since our inception, due to performers who have chosen to step down. These are talented performers who deserve their share of the spotlight. They are always welcome at Impulse, whether to perform or simply hang out and have fun. Sadly, some of them have decided never to return to Impulse, or even to drag. We hope some day these fine individuals will re-open the doors that were closed. In the meantime, we wish them all the best in their endeavors and in their performances at other venues. You each are missed, despite our differences. We invite everyone who reads this to decide for yourself how successfully (or not) we are achieving our mission. If anyone has any questions about who we are, our goals, our methods, or recent events -- or if anyone has any complaints, criticisms, or suggestions -- we welcome your questions and feedback. With Love, The Impulse Board of Directors
