Our officers are currently in attendance at a large fire at a commercial property in Chemical Lane, Burslem. We are assisting Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service by diverting traffic from the area. Due to the size of the fire a number of roads have been closed off as a safety precaution. These include both carriageways of the A500 between Porthill roundabout and Box Cross Road, along with Reginald Mitchell Way. It is expected they will remain closed for some time. There are no reported injuries at this time. Although no residential properties are believed to be affected nearby residents are advised to keep doors and windows closed if concerned. Once the fire has been extinguished, fire investigators and forensic officers will carry out an investigation to establish the cause of the fire.
