Our old (really, really shitty) health insurance cant be renewed next month as is because it doesnt meet the minimum standards. I mean, it was barely worth having because going to the doctor was still really expensive. I wanted to change it last year, but a better plan was RIDICULOUSLY expensive. They sent me a renewal package that upgraded our current plan (just to meet the minimum) for a 1% increase in price. So, this morning, I called our agent because I have 3 days left to pick a plan. After speaking with her for awhile & learning about the new changes to the laws, I was able to get us a MUCH BETTER plan. Not only is the new plan like, 500% better, (better co-pay, lower deductible, same great network) but its more cost effective (for both the business & employees) because the insurance companies are no longer allowed to rate employees based on gender & age. #ThanksObama, now I can afford to go to the doctor!
