Our retreat is this... You live in a body but you are not a body. You have thoughts and ideas but you are not a theory or a concept. You own stuff but you are not stuff. You have a reputation but you are not a brand, image or impression in someone’s mind. You have a past and future but you will never exist in either. You’ve done many things but you are not an achievement or an outcome. You have talents and skills but they are not you and you are not them. You know many things but you are not knowledge. You are both fearful and courageous but you are neither courage nor fear. You are cerebral and creative but you are not your mind or your potential. You are emotional but you are not an emotion. And while many people know about you, nobody knows or understands the entirety of you. In order to see you, I must close my eyes and look past everything that you are not. (Craig Harper)
