Our thoughts are with our colleagues and the families who lost loved ones in the recent Taliban massacre of school children and teachers at a school in Peshawar. W4s field partner Society for Appraisal & Women Empowerment in Rural Areas (SAWERA) along with other Civil Society organizations held a candlelight vigil outside Mardan press club to express solidarity with the families of 132 children and 9 teachers killed in the Taliban attack on an army run school in Peshawar. The participants of the vigil held a walk, carrying banners and candles in their hands, from Mardan city and gathered in front of Mardan Press Club on Wednesday to protest the killing of children and teachers during the brutal attack. Talking to media, the protesters strongly condemned the killing of innocent school children and teachers at the Army Public School and asked the government to provide protection for schools and students. They urged the government to develop a clear mechanism and policy to stop such attacks against innocent children and women.
