Our troubles with China finally came to an end at 5 am this - TopicsExpress

Our troubles with China finally came to an end at 5 am this morning. After 3 cancelled flights, more then 16 hours spend in line, 5 hours waiting for our luggage, checked in and out 6 times, a delayed flight to Shenzhen, we ended our troubles at the Lok Ma Chau border at 1 am with our home 20 miles away… BUT no, a stamp in our passports made it impossible to get in to Hong Kong, we were not supposed to leave Beijing…other then on a Hong Kong flight. But no one in Beijing told us this… We spend 4 hours being detained by the boarder police, that kept threatening us with sending us back to Beijing… Luckily, I think, more people with the same stamp came and at the end we were about 15 people, all being threatened with Beijing, that we all had fought so hard to get out of. At 4:30 they finally let us all go with a normal stamp in the passport!!! I must admit I am shaken to the core of my being by the treatment we have revived by both Air China and the boarder police in Shenzhen. No compassion was to be seen, even when our daughter broke down and cried her heart out be cause they kept telling us that we had to go back to Beijing. We spend 53 hours getting home from, what was a wonderful vacation in Denmark.
