Our vision as Switch is to rebuild the MSA by harnessing the collective power of the student body that will: - Fight against the continued attacks on higher education, including opposing the proposed move towards deregulation through the use of creative and inclusive campaigns. - Expand on existing student welfare services such as Free Food Mondays, whilst also addressing the systemic issues that contribute to student poverty. -Open up the dialogue on the issue of mental health that affects many students and campaign for better services and support in this area. -Collaborate with divestment organisations Quit Coal, 350 and Fossil Free to divest Monash from the fossil fuel industry and re-invest in green economy. We will also campaign for divestment from companies that profit from the mandatory detention of asylum seekers. - Build on the Wholefoods/RISE (Refugees, Survivors, Ex-detainees) partnership. - Campaign to make the campus a safer place for woman identifying students. -Build on projects like Monash University Community farm, The Bikery and Wholefoods. -Support autonomous organising by the Women’s, Queer and Indigenous Departments.
