Our walk on Sunday 30th March is Knightwick to Bromyard, Worcestershire. All three groups start from the Talbot Inn at Knightwick, and finish at the car park in Tenbury Street, Bromyard. The B walk heads south-west from the Talbot Inn, crossing first the River Teme on a footbridge, and then the A44 main road. We walk past Knightwick Manor Farm into Big Wood, emerging onto Bringsty Common near a house called Bell Vue. A gentle climb brings us to a trig pillar, where we stop for the morning break. This point has good views in all directions. We then continue westward into Brockhampton Park, skirting Lawn Pool and then climbing up to a church. Again there are fine views over undulating countryside. A permissive path leads north onto Bromyard Down where lunch is taken. Those who wish may call at the Royal Oak pub for a drink. The afternoon begins by skirting the edge of Warren Wood before descending to the A44 and crossing the road near some flats, formerly a hospital. The next mile is on a narrow gated road leading to Avenbury Court. From here we take a path northward which leads into Bromyard. Total distance 9.5 miles. A more strenuous A walk and easier C walk will also be offered to walkers. Join us if you can, the coach leaves Colmore Row at 9.00am.
