Our weather pattern is about to pick up in intensity for the - TopicsExpress

Our weather pattern is about to pick up in intensity for the latter half of December. Up first, a spring-like storm system. Today, more cloudy and gray weather. The fog will eventually lift and give way to overcast skies with better visibility. Highs will reach into the upper 50s in northern Oklahoma to the mid 60s in southern Oklahoma. Winds will be breezy out of the southeast at 15 to 25 mph. Tomorrow, though, is what everyone is wondering about. Lets get to it! A strong storm system will bring showers and thunderstorms tomorrow morning to the entire state. A line of storms, a few of which will be heavy, maybe even severe, will march east through the day. Before noon, showers and storms will affect western Oklahoma. The way it looks right now, storms will arrive in OKC around lunchtime or just after. By tomorrow evening, storms will all be east of I-35. Theyll be quick moving, so dont expect them to hang around long. As far as severity goes, Im not expecting widespread severe weather, but a few strong or severe storms will be possible within the line as it moves east. The primary threats will be hail up to the size of quarters and wind gusts up to 65 mph. Beyond Sunday, the forecast gets colder. Highs in the 40s for the work week. Another storm system is showing up around the Thursday/Friday timeframe that will bring some rain and potentially some winter weather. Its hard to pin down much right now, but keep it in mind if youre making travel plans. Next weekend looks fine for now, but again, with how active this pattern is turning, well need to keep a very close eye on things!
