Our wonderful black lab/malamute mix has been gone more than three years. Weve spent the time since then talking about when and what kind of dog to get next. I wanted a female, medium-sized dog. Randolph wanted a male large-ish dog. We agreed on a middle-age dog. Most recently, we were stumped by the cost/time involved in fencing our 1-acre lot. We seemed pretty far away from getting a dog when I saw a friends Facebook post. He was moving out of state, and his fathers health was failing, so he needed to find a home for his dads 7-year-old female black lab. It seemed a God thing, since I dont see this particular friends feed very often. We said we were interested, and she moved in yesterday. Shes large, but smaller than Juneau (and much better behaved). The bonus is shes a house dog, which means we dont have to fuss with a fence. Gods plans are best.
