Our world has become so complicated... Seeing the masses of people - TopicsExpress

Our world has become so complicated... Seeing the masses of people of people when we walked all over downtown Toronto broke my heart at times. They wore their stress on their faces, all dressed up working so hard to make a life. But it seemed that they were just existing. Life was about work and getting ahead! We walked by man who was drunk and homeless but he was laughing and laughing. I thought what is wrong with this picture? It seems that life wasnt about taking time to touch a life. Life and ministry has for many has become busy and for the need to survive. In the process, we can easily forget what life is about. People go to church and Ive heard it a million times, no one greeted me, no one even shook my hand and or even said a word. We can never forget that people are our product. Weve made it so complicated but its really not. Jesus touched those whom He healed. “As the sun went down that evening, all the villagers who had any sick people in their homes, no matter what their diseases were, brought them to Jesus; and the touch of His hands healed every one!” (Luke 4:40) Did Jesus have to touch everyone? He was God in human flesh, He could have just said, “I’m tired, it’s been a long day. All of you, who came to be healed, be healed. Now go home. But He didnt, because He knew the power of touch and He went out and touched every one. Don’t ever underestimate the power of human touch. I would always tell our church, “Shake hands with those around you, introduce yourself by name to them, give them a hug and say, good morning.” Why? Because that may have been the only compassionate human touch that person received in weeks or months. The endless testimonies that I got as those people crying telling me, That was the first time anyone told me they love me. That was the first time that anyone has ever hugged me in my life. Jesus used touch to communicate that care that He had. We live in a world of doubters, when Thomas doubted Jesus, Jesus offered proof. He didnt debate him, or say to him, who do you think you are to challenge Me? No, when Thomas had doubts, Jesus said, “Here I am. Put your finger in my hands. Blessed are those who haven’t seen me but I want to give some proof to you.” Jesus didnt focus on peoples’ DOUBTS but on their NEEDS! He enabled people to touch Him and see the reality of who He was! At least 50% of communication are the non-verbal signs that people see. Only 12% are our actual words. Dont ever underestimate the power of the human touch, Jesus didnt! Its so good to be back encouraging you... Happy Tuesday Everyone.
