Out of 6 years of driving, Ive never came as close to gettin in a wreck as I just did a hour ago in Gordon. I had just turned onto the road where it forks off and you go left to go to Gordon, right before the bridge. I was in the curve right before the Texaco and I have no idea how, but I lost control of my truck. I wasnt going fast and I was paying full attention. Somehow, my truck just went out of control and kept going side ways. I knew I was fixina flip across the ditch, over onto the train tracks. My truck was slinging around way too much for me to stop it in time. I cant emphasize on the fact that I KNEW it was going to end with me flipping down onto the train tracks. I was preparing for it, when my truck goes from full on slinging mode to just coming to a dead stop in the grass, on the side of the road, not even a foot from where the shoulder dips down into the ditch by the tracks. My truck had slung around so much, that by the end of it, my truck was pointed back towards 18 like I was going home. All I can say is, God was with me. Ive been so down in the dumps and sad lately that I kinda started losing faith in everything. Faith in God, faith and hope in life. I woke up this morning feeling worthless and like not too much of anybody cares, but God cares. The family who pulled over to check on me cared. I think this was a wake up call and a reminder that God is still there. Even when I dont feel like He is. Theres no way I couldve made it out without flipping if God wasnt riding shotgun with me. Two lessons today: Gods there, even when you feel like He aint and last but not least, dont take life for granted. If my truck had just went another foot over onto the shoulder, I aint too sure how it wouldve turned out. But God saved me, so I wont ever have to know.
