Over a year ago I sat in the studio and watched Whatyasay Tuge and Juss Lu produce a beat that, by all hip hop standards, sounded like nothing I had heard before. The drum pattern was a heart beat, Tuge inhaled and exhaled on the track- like seriously, they went all the way left with it. A day later, I was back in that same studio and Clean Clothes was recorded. I sat there on my laptop and began downloading second hand footage- powerful moments and imagery- anything that the song inspired me to. The plan was to string these clips out and create a visual encapsulating the feel of the song. Something simple and straight to the point. We sat on that video for a year plus. Recently, having seen some of the injustices that have transpired, we decided to add more to that version of the video and release it. To be fair, this is a touchy subject and therefore not for everybody. Interpret it as you will, but to me, the message is unity and progress. Hip-Hop is rebellious, its brash, its loud, its opinionated- so without further ado, Tuges Clean Clothes : youtu.be/uXbQarKbK8M
