Over the next few weeks we are going to give information about each of the new camps added. The first one to be featured this week is Camp Hope. Camp Hope is located in Hoisington KS and it for children ages 5-17 who have or have had cancer. Its a week long overnight camp help annually in June. It was founded in 1982 and will be celebrating 32 years this year. The camp provides kids with the traditional summer camp experiences such as swimming, bowling, golfing, fishing, basketball, crafts, horseback riding and more. There is a 24 hour on-site medical team. They typically have 90-100 volunteers and 70-90 campers each year. Campers become more confident and optimistic. They are able to interact with other children who have been through a similar situation already or are going through it now currently. They realize they are not alone in their ordeal. They often leave camp with more hope about the future!
