Over the next few years a lot of changes at the state level will impact LSP. I think most of these changes will be positive for LPS if they are managed correctly. I think the most important change is the implementation of new state standards. The standards describe what kids should know and be able to do at each grade level. All of the standards were reviewed and approved by the State Board of Education. The basis for the the reading, writing and communicating standards are based on the Common Core Standards developed by a national council of state education leaders. Colorado educators developed standards for many other subjects including the arts, social studies, world languages, and science.
