Over the past couple of weeks Alfie has been getting some great exposure to some things he doesnt get to see on a regular basis. He has gotten to spend some great time in chaotic situations with children running around and has been simply amazing. He also had some first time exposure to goats and sheep where I let him make his own decisions, and he performed amazingly for me. It seems that maturity suits him very well. At a little over 3, the long hours I have put in are truly making me proud. I can honestly say, even as a trainer, I had my days when it was hard to keep faith that it would work out. I truly believe that the struggles I had with Alfie, shaped the philosophy I live and train by today: With RESPECT, PATIENCE, and CONFIDENCE... All Else Will Follow. When you are struggling and doubting with your own dogs, I hope you can look to the success of others and use that strength when perhaps your own CONFIDENCE may be faltering. That relationship and bond WILL happen as long as you always remember those three words.
