Over the past few months, Team Payne put together a great effort but Team Pratt put together a better one and she should be congratulated on her victory last evening in the race for Lacey City Council Position 4. I am on board to help make Councilmember Pratt’s time in office as successful as possible. I want to thank my family, volunteers, supporters, and the Lacey Community for their support. We had a great campaign team that put in countless hours! The entire process was a ball, challenging, instructive, and fun from beginning to end. I know that many of my supporters are disappointed. I am too. Nevertheless, our disappointment must be overcome by our love of our City. We should not feel defeated. We raised issues that are going to have to be discussed such as private sector job creation, the role of government, and environmental policy. While we yet hold and do not yield our opposing beliefs, we owe a higher duty to our City at this time. As for what I will do next, I do not quite know the answer to that but I am sure my days of seeking elected have ended. This process helped me come to know myself and know the democratic process better. I am sure I will stay active in the community and but most importantly, I will give full attention to my most important responsibilities, being a husband and father. I woke of this morning with no regrets, just as I promised during my Kick-Off.
