Over the years Ive helped thousands of people on their own individual fitness journeys. But without a doubt, those whove had a specific goal that theyre working towards are 9 times out of 10 more successful and more likely to make physical changes to their health, fitness and body composition. It doesnt matter what your goal is, but I urge you to have one. Ask yourself, what is it that you really want? (You can apply this to anything in your life - this is what Im personally working on at the moment!) Focus on your goal, write it down, get specific about the time frame in which you want to achieve it, then the steps to getting there. What you need to do will then become clearer. Tell people about your goals, this will help make you accountable, and if you need help in achieving them, you may just find someone who can point you in the right direction. Whats that old saying - when the student is ready, the teacher will appear. Perhaps youre thinking about some new goals for the new year, I know I am. Today Im going to scribble down a few ideas, Im going to get selfish (I want…), Im going to get specific, Im going to keep my eye on the prize and Im going to work towards success. Your turn, grab a pen and piece of paper…. ted/talks/emily_balcetis_why_some_people_find_exercise_harder_than_others?language=en#
