Over three years ago Candace and our loved ones embarked on this scary unknowing yet incredible journey together. I had been on daily dialysis for what seemed like a lifetime when Candace called offering, no telling me she was getting tested and knew we would be a match. At the time she was living in PA and we were living in northern VA. It was a distance but she was okay with it. While she was going through the testing process we moved 90 miles south making the distance a very long commute. Candace was on a mission not allowing the extra miles to stop her. Im so grateful that she persevered and today three years later Im stronger and feeling better than I have in years. I can never repay this altruistic gift so each year to mark the significance of this amazing gift I in turn make something for Candace. Happy Transplantiversary Candace. I love you with all my heart. My family and I are forever grateful.
