Overseas Vietnamese youth attentively listened to the introduction about the maps confirming Vietnams sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos (Photo: quehuongonline.vn) On the afternoon of July 16, delegates of the Vietnam Summer Camp 2014 arrived in Da Nang. The young people visited Da Nang Museum, where exhibits and artifacts on display introduced the historical development of the city. Also evident were the more than 200 objects and maps that affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over the two archipelagoes of Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly). The overseas Vietnamese youth were introduced to ancient materials, especially maps drawn in Vietnam, the West and even China affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over Truong Sa and Hoang Sa archipelagoes. Before the situation in the East Sea today, this valuable information from original documents, has attracted the attention of the younger generation. Luong Minh Lan, an overseas Vietnamese teenager from Cambodia, attentively listened to the introduction and explanations from the guide about the documents and maps, which represent Vietnam’s sovereignty over the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa. “I feel excited when seeing maps displayed here because they affirm Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos. Through this visit, I understand more about the homeland’s sea and islands. Today I took photos of the maps so that I can show them to my friends in Cambodia about Vietnam’s indisputable sovereignty over the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa. Nghiem Tuong Vi, a young person from Hungary said that before returning to Vietnam, she had listened about China’s illegal placement of its Haiyang Shiyou-981 drilling rig in Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone and continental shelf. Now she knows more about the homeland’s sea and islands through ancient maps, which affirm the country’s sovereignty claims. She will share this with her friends, family members and international friends. Many delegates shared that after this trip, there will be practical stories to tell international friends about Vietnam, which has an ancient culture and history and is a peace-loving country. The overseas Vietnamese youth also hope to have more opportunities to introduce evidence confirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos to international friends. After visiting Da Nang museum, the delegates had a great time on My Khe beach./.
