Oxalis triangularis – “False Shamrock”, “Purple - TopicsExpress

Oxalis triangularis – “False Shamrock”, “Purple Shamrock” and “Love Plant”. (North Phoenix) Purple Shamrock plant in a 1 gallon pot – 10$ each. I will deliver between the 101 and the 51 and between Happy Valley and McDowell free of charge free of charge. If you want me to deliver outside of that area there will be an additional 5$ delivery charge. I work a full time job so deliver after my business hours and on the weekends. This Purple Shamrock plant will eventually grow multiple three leaf clovers that are deep purple with a lighter shade of variegated purple inside of each leaf with tiny whitish pink flowers. Oxalis triangularis is native to Brazil and I have found success in growing mine outdoors under a good amount of shade in a corner with north and west facing walls under a 7” tall Kava tree for shade. The leaves are nyctinastic, which means that they are sensitive to light. Cells in the joints are said to detect blue wavelengths, causing the leaves to rise to a vertical sleep position when night approaches or clouds gather. Within seconds of sunlight striking the leaves, they begin to fold open, the whole process taking a matter of minutes. This is a surprisingly hardly bulb plant. The foliage will die back during the winter but will grow back as soon as conditions become good again. Some of these divisions came from a mother plant that I thought died last winter but came back as soon as it got nice and warm again, and survived the entire Arizona summer under their Kava tree. Pictures of the plants in pots are what you will be getting. The other photo is a stock photo of what these look like with some time and care. Send me a private message if you are interested and I will reply and organize a time to meet up with you after my normal work hours. Thanks!
