P says - Desperately need some sleep advice. My 9 month old breastfed baby has never slept well. Up to about 6 months old he would sleep for approx 2 hours at a time but now he wakes almost every sleep cycle (25-35 minutes) for the first few hours of the night (8pm -12am, or until I go to bed with him) We have resorted to co-sleeping for our sanity and he will sleep for a couple of hours but will then wake up and cry until he is held upright and walked back to sleep. I dont believe in sleep training but am under huge pressure from everyone, including my husband. My gut is that something is waking him, other than a need for comfort/movement etc. everyone else thinks it is just a bad habit or seeking attention. When he wakes he is clearly upset and still half asleep and I feel that he doesnt want to be awake any more than we want him to be! Had him checked by doctor for ears/adenoids etc but nothing. Next stop I think is osteopathy. Any advice would be appreciated.
