PAID INTERNSHIP ABROAD - Interested in international education, development or Africa? Want to work abroad for 2-6 months or more? Eos Visions seeks Program Development Interns (Paid) for Rwanda Office Eos Visions is a social business that provides high-impact short-term programs for international students and professionals in developing countries. These experiences encourage personal transformation towards proactive global citizenship, and contribute to the personal and professional development of both international participants and local counterparts. We work primarily in the thematic areas of healthcare, law, business, gender and education. Our programs take the form of experiential learning, service-learning, or capacity building. Our passion for inspiring and empowering international participants and local counterparts alike to make a meaningful impact is what sets us apart in the world of international short-term program providers. For our office in Kigali, we are currently looking for one or more interns to work on program development initiatives for Rwanda, Burundi and Uganda. As an Intern in Program Development, you will be responsible for a number of individual short-term assignments/projects to be completed by the end of the internship. In addition, you will assist the local Program Manager with relevant tasks as part of the ongoing process of program development. Primary tasks and duties will include: - Conducting in-depth comprehensive research and preparing reports and summary texts in thematic areas related to Rwanda and the region, as requested by the Program Manager (i.e. healthcare, gender, social sciences, etc.) - Assisting the local Program Manager with various program development tasks and preparations for arrival of clients, as needed - Gathering specific information for the purposes of international outreach for program participants - Conducting research related to grants and other forms of supplementary funding for programs Required skills and competencies - At least 3 years of undergraduate studies (graduate applicants will be given preference) - Educational background in development, political science, international affairs, global public health and/or other social sciences is desirable - Strong research experience and knowledge of various research methodologies (qualitative and quantitative research will be expected) - Self-starter who takes initiative - Excellent communication and follow-up skills - Strong language skills in English, both written and verbal - Ability to work independently with little supervision - International travel or volunteer experience is an asset Internship is full-time and salary negotiable depending on experience, length of commitment and other factors.
