PAINTS WIN!!! The Chillicothe Paints rallied from a 5-1 deficit to melt the Lorain County Ironmen, 7-5, Friday night at V. A. Memorial Stadium. Chillicothe scored one run in the 7th frame to close the margin to 5-2 and then plated five runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to go ahead 7-5 for good. Reliever Jason Johnson and Trace Dempsey combined to hurl three innings while shuting down the Ironmens offense. Johnson tossed two innings, allowing no runs on no hits, no walks, while recording two strikeouts. Dempsey got credit for the save after firing the ninth inning, allowing no runs on one hit, no walks and he struck out the side. Together Johnson and Dempsey combined for 38 pitches, and throwing 31 for strikes! Offensive stars for the Paints were led by Matt Hopfner, 3-for-3 with a runs scored and John McLain, 2-for-4 that included a 2-run double to cap off the Paints big five-run 8th inning. Greg Rhude added a 2-run single and Adam Gautheir was credited with a run producing single.
