PARENTING TIP. Be careful what you threaten to use as punishment. You are failing if you dont follow through. Today, I felt like such a meanie. The kids were being difficult to corral and their listening ears were missing. I had to repeat myself several times to obtain results. This was to be our first field trip to the camper this year and I used the If you......one more time, we will not be going to the camper today. Once it was out, I couldnt take it back. I actually said it three more times before I played the Okay, you chose to not go to the camper by not listening. We were all very sad. I hope they will know I am serious the next time. It doesnt take away how bad I feel for disappointing them but I know I HAD to follow through.
