PARISH NOTICES FOR Sat. 5th and 6th October, 2013 1. The Archbishop has asked all priests to limit to three the number of Masses they celebrate on a weekend. In Sangre Grande Parish the parish priest normally celebrates five Masses per weekend. In order to start working towards the Archbishop’s request, the Parish Council recently agreed to cease the celebration of Holy Mass on Sunday evenings at St Francis Church starting from November. The last Sunday evening Mass will be celebrated on October 27th. Parishioners are asked to familiarize themselves with the parish Mass schedule and select from one of the other four Masses that will still be celebrated on a weekend. 2. Calling all those current and prospective choir members who may be interested in joining a special Choir for Weddings. Training will begin from next Sat 12th Oct in the Annex to the Presbytery. Training will start at 8.30 am. 3. Next Sunday (Oct 13th) the Holy Father will consecrate the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Archbishop Harris will also consecrate the Nation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary at the final Marian Devotions for the year at the Laventille Shrine. A Communion Service will be held at St Francis at the usual time of 6.00 pm on Sunday. 4. Respect for Life Week will close with a Panel Discussion at St Francis Church next Sat 12th Oct. The moderator will be well-known journalist Jones P. Madeira and the panel will include the Chief Magistrate. Time: 10.00 am to 12.00 noon. Please come and get involved in this discussion. 5. Marriage Banns: The following couples have expressed their intention to be married on the dates noted: (i) Stephen Alexander and Malisa Lewis – Alexander, both of Lp# 81 Vega de Oropouche, Toco Main Road, Sangre Grande - Fri 11th October. (ii) Kelly Ann Renaud and Jason Thomas, both of Lp# 6 Junction Road, Sangre Grande – Sat 26th October. Anyone knowing of any legitimate reason why these couples should not be married, is obligated to speak to the parish priest.
