PART OF THE SOLUTIONS TO POLITICAL ISSUES AT THE GRASSROOTS. Apart from roads, schools, hospitals and electricity, the basic infrastructure needed for economic growth and empowerment which directly affect the lives of the people in the grassroots are the Dams and other Agricultural implements. The deliberate neglect and poor attention in that direction remain the basis of political crisis in this country. If truly, Children are blessings, how comes the huge number of youths in our locality remain a serious threat to the peaceful existence of this nation? Unless we all agree to address such issues, the youth will continue to be recruited in various forms of criminal platforms. In my position as a member of PDP, I wish to call on patriotic individuals with proven passion on the need to create a new Nigeria to demand explanations on how the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources at both the Federal State Government levels have been spending their budgets. We are aware of the number of Dams meant for irrigation and livestock purposes across the country and for each year, there are budgetary provisions and allocations meant for the maintenance of Dams and procurement of Farm Implements in the same manner fertilizers are being supplied to farmers seasonally. How comes only few of those Dams are halfway functional? Remember, these are part of our primary responsibility as compelled by the Constitution. If we fail in this capacity, we have no right to question or sanction any citizen caught roaming the streets. We must also understand that the vulnerability of the Nigerian youth lies on the absence of jobs in his locality and not just that, he is an easy prey to all criminal agents including terrorism. As a matter of urgency, we must rehabilitate all the Dams, provide all required implements and enough funds across the LGAs in the country with the purpose of engaging quiet some numbers of youths, else, the level of economic injustice and hunger at the grassroots is enough a threat to the upcoming elections in 2015. I HEREBY CHALLENGE THE LEADERSHIP OF THIS COUNTRY, MY STATE, MY POLITICAL PARTY AND PATRIOTIC CITIZENS TO DEMAND FOR ACCOUNTABILITY AND PROPER IMPLEMENTATION OF POLICIES AND DEPLOYMENT OF RESOURCES TOWARD IMPROVING ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT AT THE GRASSROOTS.
