PAWS Alumni Update! Carlo (once Rhondo) is doing great! He loves his dog sister Elsa and has learned a lot from her, since shes confident and good at just being a dog. Carlo is not the skittish guy that you knew when he was at PAWS. My husband and I are pretty experienced with dogs, so we have not done training, but we have trained him on all the basic commands (sit, stay, down, come, shake) plus one fun one (TOUCHDOWN where hes sitting and puts both paws up). Weve also worked on touch training to make him less sensitive to the things hes afraid of, such as the vacuum and the broom. Now he is less apprehensive about these items. Hes definitely bored when left alone all day, so weve doggy-proofed the house and bought lots of fun chew toys for him. Hes a big cuddlebug and loves belly rubs, licking people, and playing tug with the many ropes we have around. We love our Carlo and cant imagine life without him! Hes also a good housemate to our two cats, which has been great.
