PC issues 2nd list of candidates NC, PDP has nothing to offer: Rasheed Mehmood Srinagar, Nov 14 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference issued second list of candidates for the forthcoming assembly elections. The list includes Adv. Ehsaan-ul-Haq young and dynamic lawyer at high court will contest from Wachi, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir prominent social activist from Pulwama, Adv. Mohd Lateef Lone young lawyer from Charisharief, Adv. Suhail Malik Dy. Advocate General Supreme Court of India from Dooru Shahabad, Gh. Mohiuddin Bhat, Ex-MLA and active social activist from Sangrama, Irfan Matoo Young social activist from Eidgah and Shafat Sidique president Students Union from Amira Kadal. The decision was taken in the election committee meeting which was presided by Rasheed Mehmood. Speaking on the occasion, Mehmood said that National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were deceiving people of Jammu and Kashmir by making hollow promises only and leadership of these traditional parties are competing each other these days over newspaper space. In a statement he said, “NC and PDP leaders have mastered the art of issuing statements and launching propaganda. They compete each other on newspapers and want to deceive people. They are least bothered about the problems of common people as they have no program for their welfare and development.” “The only aim of NC and PDP is to grab power by hook or crook. Right from 1947 and especially 1990 onwards they have been part of killing, arson and loot,” Mehmood alleged. Throwing an open challenge to leaders of NC and PDP to debate what they have to offer for Kashmiris with PC chief Sajjad Lone, he said, “If they have any concrete program for the welfare and development of Kashmiris let them debate it with Sajjad Lone who has a vision for betterment of Kashmiris. We are ready for such debate on any day and at any venue.” Mehmood said that PC has a comprehensive programme for welfare of people. “NC and PDP have no concept, no intention and no programme for the welfare of the people. There only aim is to loot and plunder the resources of the state. Be it Abdullahs or Mufits, they have always deceived the people of the state,” he added. The PC General Secretary impressed on the people to join hands with Peoples Conference in its campaign for change. “People have choice available as PC is emerging as a strong alternative. I appeal the people to give their mandate to this change and reject the traditional parties in the coming assembly polls,” he said.(KNS)
