PCB REMOVED; EXPERIMENTAL REPAIR PEDING. WOULD NOT REPENT IF I END DAMAGING THE RADIO I would like to thank all who symapthized with me for the faulty 7 year old ham radio transciever FT-857D that I bought second hand from a ham [ as I was not in position to import a new one] and inspiring me to troubleshoot the radio with information about what might go wrong with the radio and epecially Karan, VU2YEP Karan Bakshi for pointing me to the Filter Issue. This first led to the Purchase of the #Diamond SWR cum Power Meter and a Dummy Load. The purchase was long pending since 1989. As suggested by Karan, VU2YEP, I emailed to #YAESU America. Yaesu America promptly replied me to get in touch with Mr. Sam Ruddy of #StandardHorizon in UK standardhorizon.co.uk. I got a prompt reply from Mr. Sam Ruddy telling me that from the symptoms of the fault, he also doubts that the three filters must be faulty. Mr. Sam Ruddy promptly shipped the filters from England through ordinary Royal Airmail. I would like to thank YL Ms.Tisha Hayes. AA4HA [USA] who explained to me the problems related to these filters and told me to read: lrg.lv/~yl3bf/FT857-897_CF1005-fix.pdf and to OM Milorad YU1EF and thanks to AXIS bank for the new SR-8DX + DJB water bill payment [ Whoa water and the radio costed the same!!!! -thats something cool ] Due to poor vision, I am unable to look into the PCB so placed an order for ebay.in/itm/Magnifier-Magnifying-Glass-Clamp-Helping-Hand-Adjustable-Soldering-Stand-Station-/121511207320?_trksid=p2054897.l5658 Now in a state of confusion whether to go for de-soldering/soldering wick or use a de-soldering pump as my vision is poor..
