PCSB news:- Progesif Cellular Sdn Bhd (PCSB) announced today that it has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to stabilise its 3G mobile network as part of a two-phase network improvement programme. Phase one is aimed at eliminating existing bottlenecks in its network, as well as to maximise the efficiency of its equipment and infrastructure. It will also expand its network capacity to accommodate anticipated traffic growth over the next 12 months. The RFP process is expected to take two months to complete and the successful vendor will be announced sometime in October this year. Phase Two of PCSB’s network improvement programme, which will enhance the network’s capability to support new and innovative services to PCSB’s customers, is expected to take place immediately after the first phase has been completed. PCSB’s CEO, Mr Paul Hyde, said that a strong network is key to ensuring that PCSB becomes a strong player in Brunei’s mobile communications industry. “We want to offer our customers our own brand of service that will ensure that they stay with us for the long run. In order to do that, we need the right combination of people, network and technology, and this is one of the first steps in this direction. “Our long term vision is to develop a sustainable organisation that will consistently deliver new and innovative offerings to customers, and we are already developing exciting new products and offerings that will take advantage of our network developments,” he added. He calls on PCSB customers to be patient as the company takes all the necessary steps to evolve and become their trusted mobile communications partner. “We appreciate your support and understanding, and we value your feedback as we move forward in making all these improvements” he added. PCSB took over the business and operations of B-Mobile Communications Sdn Bhd on 1 July this year, and Mr Hyde was appointed as its first CEO two weeks later. A wholly-owned subsidiary of Darussalam Assets Sdn Bhd, PCSB is poised to be a competitive and sustainable mobile operator in Brunei Darussalam, offering innovative products and services to its customers.
