PCSO: The Goose that Lays the Golden Egg After hiking the minimum - TopicsExpress

PCSO: The Goose that Lays the Golden Egg After hiking the minimum betting price for the lotto 6/42 and 6/45 lotteries from P10.00 to P20.00, the PCSO management then drastically reduced the corresponding prizes for the three(3), four (4), five (5) number winners. The new prize scheme is as follows: For the 6/45 draw: Jackpot Prize = Minimum Jackpot Prize of Php 9 Million Second Prize = Up to Php 50,000.00 Third Prize = Up to Php 1,500.00 Fourth Prize = Php 20.00 For the 6/42 draw: Jackpot Prize = Minimum Jackpot Prize of Php 6 Million Second Prize = Up to Php 25,000.00 Third Prize = Up to Php 1,000.00 Fourth Prize = Php 20.00 The people behind the PCSO management are really an enterprising lot. All they have in mind is how to fleece the people of their hard-earned money, only to satisfy their greed. This is their reward for the betting public after almost twenty years of hoping and dreaming. The income of the PCSO immediately doubled when they doubled the betting price from P10.00 - P20.00. In fact, everything doubled – the taxes, the operation fund, the charity fund, etc. But instead of being doubled , the prizes were cut down to inequitable and unfair dividends. The prize for getting three (3) numbers used to be P20.00 for every P10.00 bet in the 6/42 draw. The prize for the same three (3) numbers used to be P40.00 for every P10.00 bet. But now they made it at an even P20.00 for both the 6/42 and 6/45 draws. This is a bad and foolish decision by the General Manager and the PCSO Board of insatiable Directors. Again, for the 6/42 draw, the old prize for the four (4) number winner is P500.00 while the same winner at 6/45 gets P600.00. Now they gave an uncertain amount of dividend (pari-mutuel). This third prize says: “Up to P1000.00”; but the dividend came out to be a measly P220.00! The second prize or winner of five (5) numbers used to be P20,000.00 for the 6/42 draw and P23,000.00 for the 6/45 draw. But today, it says: “Up to P50,000.00 for the 6/45 draw “ and “Up to P25,000.00 for the 6/42 draw. Unfortunately, one lucky fellow who won the second prize of the 6/42 draw got a dividend of P9,000.00 only. This is a bad and foolish decision of the PCSO Board of hungry Directors and the General Manager. And yet they splurge on unnecessary ads expenses, sponsoring sports and such other insignificant radio and tv programs and other expenditures that are mysterious and alien to the PCSO charter. Instead of spending the funds on the needy and the unfortunate lot of Filipinos, politicians are seen regularly visiting the PCSO offices, asking and being granted huge fund allocations purportedly to be spent for their poor constituents. The PCSO management never realized that this new prize and price scheme they just adopted will slowly but surely “kill the goose that lays the golden egg.” The rich people bet on the lotto draws occasionally, if ever. It is the poor people who regularly contributes to the lotto pot and share their hard-earned money to the needy and the sick. And yet, out of their unrelenting and wicked hearts, the PCSO management just found it convenient and easy to deprive these poor lotto bettors of their very slim chance and hope to hit the jackpot by making their chance slimmer. ###
