PDP GOVERNOR’S FORUM MEETS TODAY 16 DEC 2014 By: SAMINU IBRAHIM, Abuja In a bid to resolve myriads of challenges that arose from the primaries of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), governors of PDP control states will today (Tuesday) meet in Abuja. Checks by Newswatch Times revealed that the meeting, expected to be held at the Akwa Ibom State Governor’s Lodge will, among other contending issues, delve on how to bring succour to aggrieved party members, particularly incumbent governors, whose political aspiration is on hang balance, as a result of defeats at the primaries. Already, some of the governors who became embittered occasioned by the primaries had defected to other political parties. It is recalled that governors Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta and Sullivan Chime of Enugu backed out from the ambition to go to the Senate as a result of political intrigues linked to party primaries. Further investigation revealed that today’s meeting is at the instance of Governor Godswill Akpabio, following an invitation to the governors that bore his signature. A source added that the meeting is considered salient ahead of the 2015 general elections.
