PDP may destroy itself --Bible society boss 2013-06-20 23:00:59 General Secretary, Chief Executive Officer of the Bible Society of Nigeria, Mr. Fred Odutola, has said the ongoing crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party may destroy the party. Odutola said this while speaking to journalists on the state of the nation in Lagos on Thursday. He said the internal rancour could threaten the survival of the party, except its founding fathers come together to resolve the issues surrounding the crises. He said, "With the present scenario, the largest political party in Africa, PDP, might commit suicide, due to its internal bickering and rancour. "The earlier the founding fathers put heads together and address their differences, the better for them, unless, the PDP may destroy itself. "A situation where there are unsettled disputes emanating from differences must be addressed and individual benefits must bow to collective benefits of the people." Odutola expressed concern over Boko Haram menace in the country which he said was more politically oriented than religious. He said the BSN had lost three of its top members in Maiduguri, amongst many Christians victims. The CEO decried the fact that some parts of the northern region had become almost impossible to live in. He said, "We must all be concerned about the security of our nation that is being threatened. The mayhem in Maiduguri already claimed three members of the BSN."
