PDP urges INEC to disqualify Ambode The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to disqualify the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Akinwunmi Ambode from the February 28 governorship election, reports PM News. The party accused Ambode of breaching section 91 of the electoral act 2010 as amended, which stipulates a maximum of N200 000 000 as fund permitted to be spent by a governorship candidate. Taofeek Gani, the party’s state Publicity Secretary in a statement, noted that PDP’s intelligence team has detected that Ambode has spent at least N6.7 billion on campaign strategies. The money according to Gani was spent on board adverts, radio and television Jingles, souvenirs, vehicles and campaign houses etc. The party also accused Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola of deploying all government property and paraphernalia to support Ambode.
