PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS ASKING ME IF I KNOW TYLER DURDEN. With a gun - TopicsExpress

PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS ASKING ME IF I KNOW TYLER DURDEN. With a gun barrel between your teeth you speak only in vowels…just like Thom Yorke at the microphone, singing about a schizophrenics other self, inside his head, climbing up the walls of his skull. This song is absolutely chilling…ghastly, macabre, horrifying, whatever you want to call it - if Edgar Allen Poe was alive & well & writing music (and yes, naturally he would compose trip-hop), THIS is what it would sound like. It is also one of the dopest, most awesome and unique tracks I have ever had the pleasure of stumbling upon - and you should not hesitate one second to listen to it (but PLEASE listen to it on a decent soundsystem to hear the richness of the bass, or at least high quality headphones; your phones tiny speakers will simply not do it justice). This remix is truly a Zero-7 masterpiece. It starts off with a basic Radiohead guitar riff & violins, and drops a strong kick-drum, cross-stick, trip-hop beat with that smooth, 16th-note closed hi-hat tapping (youll know what Im talking about when you hear it)…then gently progresses into eerie discordant piano samples & analog synth…until finally at about 2:20 when it climaxes with extraordinarily heavy percussion, echoing reverb, and Thom Yorkes shrill, unsettling howls…and of course throws in random, bright samples of a kiddie piano/xylophone/glockenspiel - just to balance the genuine creepiness elicited by this track (or rather, add to it). Finally, it finishes off with gruesome laughter and sounds of a carnival. Im afraid of clowns, so that was the worst for me. Climbing Up The Walls, by Radiohead; remixed by Zero-7. VERY HIGHLY recommended by KCKinetic. Lyrics: I am the key to the lock in your house That keeps your toys in the basement. And if you get too far inside Youll only see my reflection. Its always best when the candles out, I am the pick in the ice. Do not cry out or hit the alarm, You know were friends til we die. And either way you turn Ill be there Open up your skull Ill be there Climbing up the walls Its always best when the light is off, Its always better on the outside. Fifteen blows to the back of your head, Fifteen blows to your mind. So lock the kids up safe tonight And shut the eyes in the cupboard. Ive got the smell of a local man Whos got the loneliest feeling. That either way he turns - Ill be there Open up your skull - Ill be there Climbing up the walls Climbing up the walls Climbing up the walls youtube/watch?v=YFmUZ74UD70
