Monday, June 17, 2013 Alert: Major accident with ejection near Perryton, Texas Both Amarillo based Lifestar helicopters are responding to a major accident with injuries near Perryton, Texas. According to scanner traffic a vehicle traveling at high speed hit a piece of heavy highway equipment and were ejected from their vehicle. TIME: 11:29 AM UPDATE: 12:02PM Lifestar Two reports they are transporting a 33 year old male in very critical condition - massive trauma. Vehicle (pickup truck) was traveling at 90 mph when it hit a piece of road service equipment. Lifestar med-tech said "Massive trauma to the chest - both lungs are practically mush. Compound fracture to the left leg. No carotid pulse." UPDATE: Lifestar Two transported a 25 year old male who was thrown from the piece of road paving equipment he was driving when it was hit by a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. According to scanner traffic the road worker was suffering from multiple contusions and left side leg and neck pain. Patient was immobilized on a spine board.
