PETALING JAYA: A foul stench coming from her two-year-old grandsons mouth led a businesswoman to the horrific discovery that their Indonesian maid may have been feeding the child with faeces. Subang Jaya deputy OCPD Supt Tan Ah Chua said on Monday that the 48-year-old businesswoman had just arrived at the double-storey terrace house in USJ at 8pm Thursday when a foul smell from her grandson roused her suspicion. She traced the source of the smell back to the childs mouth. It was then that she noticed debris resembling faeces stuck in between her grandsons teeth, he added. Supt Tan said the grandmother questioned the child about the debris and was shocked when he told her that his bibik had fed him excrement. The child said he was given faeces to eat in a toilet on the upper floor. She also said that the boy had vomited out bile that smelt like excrement, he explained. Supt Tan said police are in the midst of arresting the maid, who had been sent back to her agency, to facilitate investigations. According to him, the maid had been working with the family for three months. The case has been classified as child abuse under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001, which carries a jail term of up to 10 years and a fine not exceeding RM20,000.
