PF Grassroots Members Want Info on President’s Health As pressure mounts on government to be truthful on President Michael Sata’s failing health, the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) grassroots have joined the bandwagon of those demanding for answers regarding the president’s travel to Israel and his failing health. One of the grassroots leaders in Chongwe has asked the party and government to beg God for forgiveness and reconciliation because the PF had been deceitful and careless with the responsibility assigned to them by God. Godfrey Nsondwe from Kaposhi ward in Chongwe constituency said the troubles being experienced in the PF and Sata’s life could be the wrath of God. Nsondwe said God gave the PF power to rule, but the party and its leadership refused to fulfill their intimate promises to the people. He said God placed trust and confidence in Michael Sata and his government, but instead of fulfilling God’s will, the PF had abused their authority and scores of Zambian people were suffering from the wanton abuse of power. He said in as much as no one would celebrate another person’s suffering, it had become clear that Sata’s ailment was a message from God that he must rule in accordance with the Lord’s will. Nsondwe said leadership was ordained by God and those who are privileged to be in leadership positions must not depart from the God’s own ways. He said God gave Michael Sata a rare chance to lead in 2011, but this privilege out of the millions of Zambians had been mishandled with impunity, but God loved his people. Nsondwe said it was important for the ruling party to pray for Michael Sata because with God, all things were possible. “For me, we have heard so many statements and stories coming from the government. In fact, our own leaders in government and the party are trying very hard to conceal something that is so clear. In the new world, it is very hard to hide such things especially when they relate to the president. What I want to say is that let our president find time, repent and reconcile with God for all the transgressions committed because it is clear that God is not happy somewhere,” he said. Nsondwe said many leaders in the PF did not assume power to serve God’s people for selfish aggradisement and the fulfillment of personal egos. He said the squabbles that currently characterize the ruling party would not end because there was no shared vision on how to deliver campaign promises to God’s people. “This is why we are seeing our leaders experiencing personal problems. Lets us kneel down and pray to God so that we can confess so that we can be forgiven and start a new chapter. Otherwise, our problems will never come to an end because we seem to have annoyed God,” he said. President Michael Sata has spent more than 10 days in Israel where he went on what the government is calling an official state visit, which includes a medical checkup. Last week, Vice President Dr Guy Scott said Michael Sata was in Israel in a scheduled meeting with outgoing President Shimon Peres. Local and international news blogs have reported that Michael Sata was admitted to a health institution in Israel and he was in a critical condition with a concoction of diseases that include a form of cancer. There was also news that Sata’s family was making attempts to transfer him to India for continued medical treatment. zambiareports/2014/06/30/pf-grassroots-members-want-info-presidents-health/
