PF MINISTERS THREATENING PEACE BY FIGHTING SCOTT- HH As I file - TopicsExpress

PF MINISTERS THREATENING PEACE BY FIGHTING SCOTT- HH As I file for my nomination today I continue to be disturbed by the level of chaos and disorderly conduct in the PF that has created widespread concern for all peace-loving Zambians. As law-abiding democrats, the UPND recognizes that article 38(2) of the Constitution means that Dr. Guy Scott is acting President for 90 days, following the death of the late President Mr. Michael Sata. I agree with the distinguished Professor Michelo Hasungules statement that this is the only constitutional option. Dr. Scott has expressed his commitment to delivering a fair election, and we call upon him to do everything possible to ensure that this happens. The moves and in-fighting in the Patriotic Front against Dr. Scott are threatening the peace of our nation. The determination of PF leadership to abuse state resources to pursue their selfish ambitions threatens our democracy, the rule of law, and our standing in the eyes of the international community. Government ministers have forgotten their oath of office, and their duty to exercise their powers to govern for the benefit of ALL Zambians. Even the most loyal PF members are leaving the party in their thousands, despairing as their party and its promises for development fall in tatters around them. As the President of the UPND and on behalf of all its members, let me assure each and every law-abiding member of the PF that they will find a welcome home in the UPND. And whilst the PF fight amongst each other, Zambians all over the country are looking for leadership to lead them out their daily struggle and suffering. The UPND is the only party that is on the ground, with a clear campaign message and a vision for the development of our country. We will take office on 20th January 2015, and restore peace, order, patriotism and integrity to our great nation. Hakainde Hichilema UPND President
