HERE IS A MESSAGE I JUST RECEIVED FROM OPERATION AVA: Due to the overwhelming response I am writing a general response to those interested in adopting Jeffrey and Jermaine. These two very special boys are absolutely bonded. They were found wandering as strays in Philadelphia and taken to Animal Control. It was immediately apparent that Jeffrey had severe vision limitations and is completely blind in one eye and almost no sight with the other eye. He depends on Jermaine to guide him in unfamiliar territory. The two love people and are good with other dogs. At seven months old they are ready to learn and begin life with a family of their own. But we are adopting them to a home that can take both of them. A donor has paid for one adoption fee so that any potential adopter need only pay for the other’s fee to take them home. That fee is $275.00. These exceptional brothers are already neutered, micro-chipped, up to date for vaccinations, and have been seen by our veterinarian. When they arrived they had a mild skin infection due to non-contagious mange. This condition has already resolved for the most part and continued good nutrition and a safe home should do the rest. Include a veterinary reference or three personal reference from unrelated people on your application and bring identification and proof of home ownership or landlord permission when you come to visit. Applications will be processed in order of receipt and will be considered only if they are complete. Complete means that we have references, proof of home ownership or landlord permission and a satisfactory meeting has taken place to ensure Jeffrey and Jermaine and new family members are comfortable with each other.
