PHQ resumes functioning in Jammu DGP inspects moving police establishments, chairs officers meeting JAMMU, NOVEMBER 04: Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. Ashok Prasad inspected Police Headquarters and other moving police establishments which resumed functioning in the winter capital Jammu here this morning, following annual darbar move. Mr. Prasad was received at PHQ lawns by senior police officers and was presented guard of honour by a contingent of armed police. Accompanied by Additional Directors General of Police, Mr. P. L. Gupta, Mr. S. P. Vaid and Mr. S. M. Sahai, the DGP visited various sections of PHQ and enquired from the officials about the working of their branches. Mr. Prasad also chaired a high level meeting of police officers at PHQ and discussed various issues related to the Police Organization. He enquired about the progress achieved on different fronts of policing in the State. He instructed the officers to maintain close rapport at all levels to keep the law and order maintained. Urging the officers to work with greater zeal for achieving desired results in different areas of policing, Mr. Prasad said that major thrust should be given to public service and all matters related to the common people should be settled on priority. He said that safety and security of the people is our prime concern and efficient measures and deployment should be made to ensure it. During the meeting, Mr. Prasad asked the officers to initiate the exercise for the upcoming challenges and in this connection all Wings of the Organization needs to be mobilized. While dealing with the challenges it should be ensured that common people does not face any inconvenience in the day-to-day working, he added. Later, the DGP visited other moving offices of the organization including Armed, Home Guard, Police Housing Corporation, CID, Security, Railways and Crime Headquarters. Interacting with the staff, Mr. Prasad stressed upon them to render their duties with zeal, enthusiasm and discipline. During the inspection of various establishments, he discussed different matters with heads of those units and gave on-the-spot instructions for their better working. He asked the officers to ensure quick disposal of cases related to the welfare of jawans and officers to minimize their hardships. Among others, the meeting was attended by ADsGP, Mrs. DR Doley, Mr. VK Singh and Mr. Dilbag Singh, IsGP, Dr. B Srinivas, Mr. AK Choudhary, Mr. HK Lohia, Mr. Deepak Kumar, SJM Gillani, Mr. SK Sharma, Dr. KK Saini, Mr. PR Manhas, Mr. Muneer Ahmed Khan and Mr. Rajesh Kumar, DIsGP, Mr. AS Bali, Mr. SA Watali, Mr. AK Atri, Mr. MM Sadiq, and Mr. SA Beig, AIG (Personnel), Mr. GH Bhat, SP (Trainings) PHQ, Mr. BA Shah, Exn. (PCD), Mr. ND Khawaja and other senior police officers. Earlier, the DGP along with other senior police officers visited the Police Martyrs Memorial at Railway Head and laid wreath at the memorial. He paid homage to the police martyrs who laid down their lives for the safety of the people and security of the State. While inspecting the Memorial, he discussed modalities with the concerned officers to add more beautification of the Memorial. He said Rail Head is the gate way of the State and the Memorial should give a best and memorable look to the visitors.
