PICTURE COMPETITION: WHAT MY VILLAGE MEANS TO ME Submit your picture for a chance to win £125 Alvechurch Village Society and The Village magazine have joined forces to launch a picture competition for all readers. The aim is to inspire you to create, either by photographing, drawing, painting or some other means, a picture with the theme: “What my village means to me.” Even short videos can be submitted. There is a cash prize of £125 for the first-placed entry, £50 for the second and £25 for third. All entries will be exhibited at Alvechurch Library – and on the Village Society and Village magazine websites – before final judging. The closing date for entries is November 1, so you’ve two months to either create something new or to choose something you’ve already taken or made that says what your village means to you. The competition is open to all of our readers, not just those from Alvechurch village, but you must be an amateur. The prizegiving will be held at Alvechurch Library on Saturday November 30. Rules: Physical entries can be supplied by post or by hand to the offices of The Village at 16 The Square, Alvechurch, B48 7LA or digital entries by email to: [email protected] While every reasonable care will be taken, entries are submitted at the owners’ risk and the competition organisers are not responsible for their safe return. Entries cannot be returned by post, but will be available for collection after the exhibition. By entering material, the entrants gives Alvechurch Village Society and The Village magazine the right to exhibit and to reproduce it both digitally and in print. The judges’ decision is final.
