PICTURED LIFE VINTAGE THURSDAY: An interesting little fact from Herman Rarebell - Herman Ze German regarding Michael during the Lovedrive tour. In Lyons, France while they were ready to play to 600 people, Michael was MIA. So when they couldnt find them, the promoter warned the band to leave right then and there before the audience started any trouble. Well surprisingly enough, the crowd did not go off and riot even after the band went and announced that their guitar player is missing. Only to find out the Michael was riding around Spain on a little motorcycle for some reason! Nobody knew why. Then Michael shows up a few days later and then comes to a few rehearsals after that. Then he disappears again and returns and this goes on and then off and on again, til the band had to finally tell Michael that they couldnt do this anymore and that they were deciding on going with Matthias and sticking with him and as we all know, the man has been there for 36 years. The guitar player who added the signature sound, a significant contributor of what became the Scorpions infamy!! NOTE: Even though the album shows song credits to all 3 guitar players; Rudolf, Michael and Matthias... all 3 guitar players never played at the same time on the album itself.
